Metronaut is an app by Antescofo, a french startup out of Ircam, the largest laboratory dedicated to Music and Technology in Paris, France. They wanted our help to discover opportunities of how they could best use the AI technology they had developed, in a mobile application. When we started they already had a working prototype that we used for user testing.
The goal with the project was to 1) Find applications for their technology in a mobile application, 2) research and find the target user, and other stakeholders, 3) design a suggestion for an app based on our insights.
I worked with two other designers on this project. We started the process with interviewing musicians that could be in the target market. We then developed a couple personas, and created user journey maps where we analysed the process of learning to play a new piece of music, and to learn to play a new instrument as a whole.
We did brainstorming session with and without the Antescofo team, where we generated a number of ideas. The ideas that resonated best was 1) A social platform for music students and teachers, where the teachers can see stats, assign lessons etc, 2) A musicians performance dashboard where the musician can get realtime feedback and log their performance (e.g. pitch and timing accuracy), and 3) a live accompaniment and recording tool.
The latter idea resonated best, and the result was an app that acts as your personal orchestra. The AI-orchestra follows you as you practise your instrument, at your own ease and tempo. We created wireframes, tested on users and finally created a suggestion for a logo and visual design. The product is currently in beta.

Toptones is a concept for a music app I did as a part of the interview process at Toptal.
What does the kitchen in the year 2050 look like? This project was a one week long design sprint I did in collaboration with two other design students to create a concept of how the kitchen will look like in 2050.

Lazyfly is a mobile-only flight booking app for spontaneous flight booking. The goal with this project was to make the booking process as fast and simple as possible. It is my own side project; I've been in charge of all aspects of the project.
The process started with a benchmark of existing flight booking apps, creation of a persona and interviews with people from the target market. Based on the identified user scenarios, I made sketches of ideas, and put them into wireframes, and created the final design together with a logo and branding.
The final result is a simple, user-friendly flight booking app, where you can both find featured destinations from a list view and book random flights based on the users' travel preferences.
In the summer of 2014, I worked with Worldwise (SmartyKat and Petlinks) one of the worlds biggest producers of cat and dog toys, to come up with new ideas for cat toys. It was a fun and challenging project, very different from what I had been working with earlier.
The string flinger was one of many concepts I developed, and the one that Worldwise wanted to develop more. It is a fun an innovative cat toy that is designed to satisfy the cat's need for exercise and hunt. The string is flung out from one side and pulled in on the other, mimmicing a mouse tail. Its shape is designed as a funnel, making it roll around in circles and limiting its play area. The organic shape and pattern creates constant visual stimulus and excitement for the cat when the toy is rolling.
The assignment was to design and build a DWR (Design Within Reach) seat out of foam core, without using mechanical fasteners. It needed to be comfortable, stable and hold 200 lbs. My goal was to create a modern, innovative design with geometric forms. A chair that might fit in a DWR store in the future.
